It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia Cowan, A resident of Chatham, who passed away in her 96th year.
Born in Windsor, Patricia was the daughter of Frank and Mary (née Veitch) Gates.
Beloved wife of John (Jack) Cowan (2007).
Loving mother to Claudia (John) Kearns, John (Sharlene) Cowan, Robin Cowan (1955), Kevin Cowan (1963).
Cherished Grandmother to Jason Kearns (Lisa), Shaun Kearns (Carolyn), Tara Cowan, Melanie (Joe) Poulin, Adam Cowan (Rachel), Nicholas Cowan (Anne Marie). Great-Grandmother to many.
Pat was predeceased by all five of her siblings Doris, Edith, Evelyn, Frank, Gloria and in-laws Dorothy, Margaret, Glen, Roy, Clifford, Eleanor, Don, Howard, Miles.
Pat was a long time member of Holy Trinity Anglican Church. She volunteered her time to many organizations. Family was the most important thing to Pat, she enjoyed baking, playing cards, Scrabble, and traveling.
Family would like to thank the staff of Meadow Park Nursing Home and Chatham Retirement Resort for their kindness and care that mom received as well as by Dr. McClean and Dr. Biondi.
A visitation will take place on Tuesday, October 10th at 11:00 am until the funeral service at 12:00 pm at McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Patricia to the Canadian Cancer Society or Heart and Stroke Foundation and would be appreciated by the family.
