Denis “Wayne” Luciano Obituary
Denis Wayne Luciano
Of Carleton Place, born June 12, 1942.
With deep sadness Wayne peacefully passed on Thursday, January 18, 2024 with family at his side at the Carleton Place Hospital, at the age of 81.
Forever remembered, a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Wayne is survived by his loving wife Joanna (nee Munroe) and two sons, Charles “Chuck” and Dee Dee (McNeely), Paul and Kimberly (Kirkham) and two grandchildren, Jack and Karlee. Predeceased by his parents Michael Angelo and Regina (Lapierre), brothers Andy (Suzanne of Perth), Carl (Mary Lou of Arnprior) and sisters. Nonie Anthony and Patricia Levitsky. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Wayne worked at Bell Northern Research for a few years before he moved on to AECL Radio Chemical Company until retirement in 1990 after 25 years.
Still a young man, he partnered with son Paul and they started their own business, C.P. Tire & Auto Accessories 30 years ago and from where he would never retire.
Always pragmatic and showing common sense he would always tell it like it is, in plain language. He lived a full and happy life and always with family coming first. Wayne was always “there” for us no matter what and he was proud of the people he loved.
He worked hard and played hard occupying his time and with hobbies outdoors and spending time in the company of his dog, Taz. Time spent working outside in the yard was cherished but nothing compared to the time he spent with his treasured hobbies, cars, trucks, boats, motorcycles and tractors. He often remodeled or redesigned something to make it perform just a bit better until it was perfect. And even then, you could hear him say, “I need more power”.
All his life he boated on Mississippi Lake, it is where he felt at peace and as close to spiritual resolve.
Friends may support the family at the Alan R. Barker Funeral Home, 19 McArthur Avenue, Carleton Place, on Saturday, January 27, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Funeral Mass to take place at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 28 Hawthorne Avenue, Carleton Place at 1 p.m.
For those who wish, a donation to the Carleton Place Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
