Cassidy, Robert (Mike)
Passed away peacefully at St Luke’s Place on Tuesday October 24, 2023, having reached his 75th birthday on June 15, 2023. Beloved husband of Katherine Cassidy. He was predeceased by his parents William and Helen Cassidy and by siblings Florence, Carol and Ronald. Left to mourn are siblings Eileen Murphy (Pat), Richard (Marion), Joan and Mary as well as sister-in law Karen (Doug) and brother-in-law Kelly (Gwenn), as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins, also his 2 special aunts (Neldy and Geraldine). Throughout the many severe challenges he faced especially over the past few years, Mike demonstrated a positive attitude and a sharp sense of humor. The family wishes to extend our thanks and gratitude to the PSW’s at Paramed, the doctors, nurses, and staff at Guelph General Hospital, CMH, and Saint Luke’s Place. We also thank the amazing volunteers at the Meals-On-Wheels who brightened many days for Mike. Cremation has taken place and there will be a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at St. Mary of the Visitation Parish, 16 Cooper St, Cambridge. A reception will follow at Lounsbury Funeral Home, 1766 Franklin Blvd., Cambridge. Parking is available across the street. A private family interment will take place at a later date. In Mike’s memory donations to a charity of your choice will be greatly appreciated.
