Robert (Bob) Cole, 83 years of Galt, Cambridge passed away peacefully at home. He was born in 1941 to parents Gordon and Alma in Galt, Ontario. Bob attended Galt Collegiate and Vocational Institute where he pursued Technical Studies focused on architectural drafting skills. He married Margaret Elizabeth of Guelph in March of 1967 and they had one daughter Tracy Lynn. He worked as a draftsman for the City of Kitchener, the University of Waterloo and eventually landed at Union Gas Ltd. There, he became a supervisor in charge of various departments over his 25+ years of service before retiring. He was never one for just passing time, after his company retirement he found himself working part time at Bennett Chevrolet Oldsmobile as one of their regular shuttle bus operators. This fill in position added an additional 19 years in the workforce to his resume. Bob was an avid hockey player and coach. One of the founding members of the Galt Minor Hockey Association and Learn to Skate program, he then turned his pursuits to tier 3 coaching clinics. As one of a few accredited lecturers in this field, he was instrumental in participating in choose young goaltenders for the Canadian World Junior Teams during the 1980’s and 1990’s. Board member and Saturday Night Volunteer with the Cambridge Winterhawks, now Redhawks hockey team for more than 30+ years. He is survived by his wife Margaret and daughter Tracy. Memorials or donations may be made to Cambridge Community Living. This organization has deep roots in Bob’s life as his parents were founders of the original William Anderson School for developmentally challenged or delayed children in the City of Cambridge, Galt.
