Pereira, Manuel Medeiros –
Manuel Medeiros Pereira passed away suddenly at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital on Monday December 16, 2024, at the age of 81. He is survived by his wife Maria, as well as his daughters Margaret and Diane.
Shortly after marrying Maria in 1969, Manuel moved from Sao Miguel, Azores to Cambridge, Ontario formally known as Galt. Manuel built a life in Ontario very different from being a self-employed dairy farmer with his brother from back home. He very much enjoyed Agriculture and raising livestock throughout his life. He worked hard just as many other Azorean’s that succeeded in Ontario at the time. He was determined and unwavering up to the very end of his life.
The family has an immense gratitude for all the healthcare professionals who cared for Manuel. Your efforts and service will not be forgotten.
Resting at Corbett Funeral Home (95 Dundas St N) where a visitation will be held on Thursday December 19, 2024, 6pm – 9pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday December 20, 2024, at Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Church (185 Elgin St S) 10am. Interment will follow at Parklawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Manuel’s name to the Cambridge Memorial Hospital Foundation and would be greatly appreciated by the family (payable by cheque or online following the link below).
