It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Thurlow Park on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at the age of 93. He was a loving Husband, Brother, Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather.
Thurlow was born in Hamilton, Ontario on January 11, 1931, and married the love of his life on May 16, 1958.
Thurlow loved competitive swimming and dedicated a large portion of his life to swimming and coaching. He swam in Hamilton, Ontario competitively when he was a youngster. As a young man, he swam for the U.S. Army, and then acquired a swim scholarship for the University of Maryland. He also swam for the Burlington Masters later in life.
During Thurlow’s Coaching Career for Burlington Swim Club, he enjoyed helping his swimmers reach their potential. Some of his swimmers were able to acquire University Swim Scholarships in the United States.
Thurlow loved his family. He is predeceased by his wife Laura, of 62 years. He is survived by his Sister, Margaret, his Children, Terry (Dino), Thurlow Jr. (Cathy), Donna (James), and Brian (Mary), his Grandchildren, Daniel (Andie), Kirsten (Steve), Tyler, Ryan, Sydney, William and Kyle, and his Great-Grandchildren, Hunter, Violet, Emmett, and Iris.
Thurlow will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
