In Celebration of
Margaret Wyllie Cushnaghan
December 9, 1928 –
December 2, 2024
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Margaret Wyllie Cushnaghan on December 02, 2024, one week shy of her 96th birthday.
Beloved wife of the late William Reid Cushnaghan. Survived by her 3 girls, Marion (Jim), Sheila (Darrell) and Lesley (Vince); her 5 grandchildren, Wes (Latisha), Marlene (Rich), Greg (Jen), Danielle (Miles) and Michelle, as well as her 8 great-grandchildren, Hannah, Jake, Azlynn, Mason, Bennett, Austin, Lily and Zayden.
Born in Scotland, Margaret emigrated to Canada with her husband Bill and 3 daughters in 1966 settling in Mississauga where they bought a house that would be ‘home’ for over 40 years. Margaret helped to support and raise her family by working as a secretary for several small businesses.
Over the years when their young girls grew up and got married they gained three sons-in-law who Margaret immediately referred to as ‘her boys’. She was a very proud Mum, Mum-in-Law and eventually Gran and great-Gran.
Margaret’s other passions included knitting, dressmaking, watching the Leafs (always hoping for a win), and also travelling to many of the world’s most exotic places.
Margaret loved life, treasured her family more than anything, and will be missed by everyone who knew her.
A Time to Remember will be held on Friday, December 6th, 11 am – 2 pm, at Bay Gardens Funeral Home, 1010 Botanical Dr, Burlington.
For those who wish, donations can be made in Margaret’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
