It is with tremendous sadness and heartbreak that the family announces the sudden passing of Audrey Helen Barnes (Cyrette), age 83 on Saturday October 28th, 2023 at Brierwood Gardens LTC. Audrey was vibrant, endearing and comes from a large family of ten girls. A true warrior, who lived life on her terms. Born in Fort William Ontario, she was a member of Fort William First Nation, Residential School Survivor and Bell Canada (Adelaide Central Office Frame) Retiree.
Beloved Mother of Darlene Vamos and cherished Grandma of Nicholas Vamos. Audrey was predeceased by her husband of 48 years Ronald Barnes (2012), Grandson Eric Vamos (2020), most recently her eldest sister Phyllis Boucher, 98 years old (Oct. 3, 2023), her parents Clara & George Cyrette, 5 sisters and a brother. She is survived by the remaining Cyrette women, her sisters Isabel, Sally and Charlene & numerous nieces & nephews.
We extend our utmost thanks and appreciation to all of the Nurses, PSW’s, Doctors and staff at Brierwood Gardens LTC for their care, compassion and attentiveness towards Audrey and the family, we couldn’t be more grateful!
In respecting Audrey’s wishes, a private family service, cremation to follow, was held at the Keith Ovington Funeral Home, 134 King Street, Burford.
