We the family of William “Bill” Mitchell sadly announce his passing on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at his residence after a short battle with cancer. He was 81 years old. Bill was born on May 4, 1943 in Brockville, raised on Brock Street playing many sports while growing up. He moved to Toronto eventually Mississauga and working and living there until his retirement. Returning to Brockville his home for his retirement. His interests were in his home gardening, enjoying his cat, fishing and feeding his wild menagerie outside his door.
His family remembers him as a “man’s man”. He valued hard work and honesty mostly.
Bill is survived by his daughter Amanda Mitchell of Brockville, his sister Gail Mitchell Culhane (Chris) of Brockville, as well as his grandsons T.J., Matt and five great grandchildren. He also leaves his niece Tammie Sluytman (Dennis), great niece Mehan Sluytman. Predeceased by his parents Theresa & Percy Mitchell.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Irvine Funeral Home, 4 James St., E., Brockville. Cremation has taken place. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society will be greatly appreciated by the family.
