With heavy hearts the family announces the passing of Rick Masters at the Brockville General Hospital on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at the age of 86. Rick is survived by his wife Elizabeth, his daughters Denise (Sean), Janice, Wendy (Rod) and step daughter Mindy and his grandchildren Dan, Kyle, Jordyn, Jeremy and Amie. Predeceased by his parents Edith and Theodore Marsters and stepdad Harry Nutik.
Rick was born in St. John, New Brunswick on June 16th,1937. Growing up in McAdam, New Brunswick his passion for sports began in his youth and throughout his life, sports and music continued to be his passion.
At the age of 17 he joined the military and dedicated his life to serving in the Royal Canadian Air force for 32 years, retiring as a Major. In his retirement, he shared his knowledge and love of golf by teaching people of all ages how to play the sport. He also enjoyed bowling and making music Cd’s for everyone who either helped him or to brighten people’s day. He loved his family, friends, cats, career and all of which provided him with a robust meaningful life.
Family and friends are invited to the Irvine Funeral Home, 4 James St. E., Brockville on Friday, November 17th from 7-9 p.m. and Saturday, November 18th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. followed by a service in the chapel.
