With a deep sense of sorrow and loss, our family announces the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, great grandmother and commonly known as “Nan,” Lois Jacqueline Van Dusen (Sheets). Lois passed peacefully at the St. Lawerence Lodge on Monday June 10th at age 96. Lois was born October 9th, 1927, in Cornwall Ontario. Lois was a RN for many years in the Cornwall General Hospital where she later met her beloved late husband Lawerence Van Dusen, a World War II Veteran. Lois and Lawernce built together their 15 acres campground in the 70’s just west of Brockville, Happy Green Acres Tent and Trailer Park. Lois had a passion for gardening and was often known by her friends for having the most beautiful gardens. Visitors of the park knew her for her meticulous attention to detail with her “crisp white towels and the cleanest washrooms”. Lois was fondly remembered for her appetite for sweets, a good diner breakfast and, a taste for instrumental music. In her earlier years Lois often found comfort with the seasonal ladies over tea and cookies in the evenings or rocking in her favourite chair with the newspaper’s crossword puzzle.
