It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of LeRoy “Woody” Wood. Woody passed peacefully with family by his side on the morning of Tuesday, November 28th, 2023. LeRoy will be deeply missed by his beloved wife “Dode” (Doris) of 62 years. Woody was the loving father of Kelly Smith (Paul), Greg Wood (Virginia) and Kathy Hunt (Glen). He will be fondly remembered as “Papa” to his grandchildren; Meagan, Justin, Courtney, Jenny, Rachel and great grandchildren Jackson, Beckham, Hayes, Astin, Addison, Adlee & Thomas. Fondly remembered by his dear sister Suzanne Johns of Wasaga Beach. He will be missed by the Hanna family. LeRoy is predeceased by his parents Howard Wood of Cardinal, Eleanor Strader of Toronto and by Elmer and Alice Hanna of Lyn.
Woody will be remembered as a devoted family man who enjoyed puttering in his garden and researching his family tree. He always had a smile on his face and was the pillar of his family, who taught everyone how to tell a good story. He will be fiercely missed by all. In keeping with Woody’s wishes there will be no funeral. Donations may be made to Diabetes Canada in his memory.
