Joseph Francis Derry of Gananoque, previously of Brockville, Ontario passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at Carveth Care in Gananoque at the age of 84. Joseph was born on February 10,1940 in Toronto, ON.
He will be joining the love of his life Patricia who passed on Friday, October 13, 2023. They had been married for 57 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his children Mary, Colleen and Susanne. Fondly remembered by his grandchildren Brittney, Grant, Julia and Erin, two great grandchildren Malcolm and Nova as well as his son-in-law-Wayne. He was predeceased by his son Patrick.
Joseph enjoyed spending his time with family and friends, he loved completing his puzzles, watching his Home Improvement shows on tv and in his younger years gardening. Joseph had a wonderful career as a chef, starting out at The Skyline Hotel back in the 1960’s. He worked in several restaurants before his stroke.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Carveth Care in Gananoque for the excellent care and compassion for Joseph over the last seven years.
In keeping with Joseph’s wishes there will not be a service or visitation. Arrangements are entrusted to the Irvine Funeral Home, 4 James St. E., Brockville. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundations will be greatly appreciated by the family.
