Smith, Susan Elizabeth (nee Sinclair)
It is with much sadness, that we acknowledge the passing of (Susan) Elizabeth, on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, in her 95th year, after gracefully battling cancer for many months. We are comforted to know, however, that she will be reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband, Harvey on his birthday. Elizabeth will be dearly missed by her daughters, Susan (Bruce), Mary (John) and her son, Philip(Debra). She is predeceased by her husband Harvey, by her father, Archibald, by her mother, Susan Bluett, by her sister, Jean, and by her brother, Donald. Much loved and adored grandmother to Kaitlyn
(Brandon), Heather (Matt), Emily (Tom), Scott (Kevin), Allison, Christine, Sarah (Trevor), Aaron (Stephanie), Joel (Jessica), Jordan (Heather) and 30 great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews. Elizabeth attended Maple Grove Public School where she met her future husband, Harvey, and also attended B.C.I. High School and later became a baby nurse through a Mothercraft course in Toronto. Elizabeth volunteered at the Landsdowne Children’s Centre of Brantford and the Canadian Cancer Society. Elizabeth sang in the choir for many years at Elm Avenue United Church (later renamed Echo Place United Church) and Zion United Church, (subsequently renamed St. Andrew’s United Church) where Elizabeth was an
active member of the United Church Women’s Association. She enjoyed travelling, but especially loved hosting family dinners in her home.

Family and friends will be received at the McCleister Funeral Home, 495 Park Road North, Brantford on Thursday, July 4, 2024 from 6:00 – 8:00pm. Funeral service Celebrating Elizabeth’s Life will be held in the Chapel on Friday, July 5, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. A private graveside service will be held Oakland Cemetery, Oakland at a later time. If wished, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or St. Andrew’s United Church, U.C.W. ,Brantford gratefully appreciated.
