Cook, Eleanor Ruby Heloise (nee Smith)
Eleanor, known to her friends and family as Heloise, passed away peacefully in her home on Jan 6, 2024 at the age of 88.
Heloise was born in Bowmanville July 5, 1935, and remained here all of her life.
Heloise was a warm, loving, generous person and animal lover. She enjoyed sitting on the front porch feeding the birds and squirrels. Her kind soul will be missed by all. Heloise enjoyed a weekly drive in the country, reading her weekly magazines and playing her scratch lottery tickets.
Heloise is pre-deceased by her husband Robert Murray Cook (2020), Sister Patricia Walker, and parents Alfred and Audrey Smith. She is survived and lovingly missed by her children, Robert Cook (Laura), Donna Broschak (Derek), Sharon Gilbank (Danny), David Cook (Nataly) and Jennifer Turley (Robert). She will also be missed by her 9 grandchildren, Colin, Megan, Kale, Jordan, Kyler, Ethan, Liam, Amy, Jesse and 1 great grandchild Max. Her very close niece Debbie Walker will miss her dearly.
Visitation will be held at Morris Funeral Chapel in Bowmanville, 4 Division St., on Friday Jan 12, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. Services will follow at 2:00 p.m. Interment thereafter at Bowmanville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society(cancer.ca/en/).
