Obituary of Brian James Colville
Brian James Colville
Gramps fought hard but lost his battle with cancer on Tuesday November 28th , 2023
Leaving behind his wife of 53 years, Ruthe (nee Henderson), children Kaiti and Paul, Adam and Alex, (predeceased by Kyle) and Tracy, Melissa and Mark and his sister Jill. Gramps was loved by his 8 grandchildren: Margot, Monaco, Lachlan, Ainslie, Jorja, Jasper, Maisie and Ava. Gramps could be heard clapping, ringing the cowbell and cheering for hockey, skating, soccer and at the race track. He himself was a lover of fast cars. Happy to treat any and all spectators to hot chocolate and fuzzy peaches. Brian was always thrilled to catch up with past BHS graduates and staff after teaching there throughout his entire career, book lovers at the Kirby Church Bookstore or anyone with a story from old Bowmanville. He has many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews who will always remember his kindness.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Orono Figure Skating Club or to the Kirby Church Bookstore (Brian was looking forward to the new windows and the preservation of the Kirby Church) or to the charity of your choice. Our Dad was a huge supporter of the community which is why we suggest a local cause. No services are being held.
