VAN DER MEER, Louis
September 14, 1948 – October 4, 2024
We are saddened to announce the passing of our brother, uncle and friend at the age of 76 at NSHN-Blind River. Predeceased by his wife Christine and his parents Hendrik and Jeltje Vandermeer. He is loved by his siblings Neil (Christine), Henry (Elaine) and Claire Haayema (Jerry) as well as his nieces and nephews David, Samantha, Ashley, Henry, Christian, Devin, Alicia, Amber, Skye and Danielle. Will be missed by his best friend Kevin Poulin.
Louis’ personality and presence filled a room. He was known for joking and laughing and always leaving a smile.
A special thanks to Meals on Wheels as well as neighbours and friends who went out of their way to help Louis.
Family and friends are invited to visit at Calvary Gospel Church, 55 Queen Street, Blind River from 10am until time of funeral service at 11am. Interment to follow at Hillside Cemetery. Reverend Owen Juhlke officiating. Light luncheon in the church basement following interment. Arrangements entrusted to Menard Funeral Home.
