McGuire, Daniel “Willis” – Passed away peacefully with his loving daughter by his side at Quinte Gardens Retirement Residence, Belleville, on Sunday, August 4, 2024, in his 98th year.
He will be very much missed by daughter Kathy; predeceased by his wife Olive (Hall) in 1989, and son Dan (Shelley) in 1997. Cherished brother of Elwyn, Melvin (Marilyn), Philip, and Margie Anez. Predeceased by brothers Lyall and Roddy, and sister Betty Sullivan. Dear brother-in-law of Faye McGuire. Predeceased by sisters-in-law Joan, Brenda, and Shirley McGuire, and Lois Cornell (Hall). Also predeceased by brothers-in-law Phil Cornell and Robert Sullivan. He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Dad lived independently in his own home up until the age of 96, where he could often be seen sitting on his front porch watching the world go by, or out for a walk through the neighbourhood or to the store for his groceries. Eventually health issues made the transition to a retirement residence necessary, and he adjusted to the move quite well, settling in comfortably at Quinte Gardens. A special thank you to the Quinte Gardens staff for their compassionate care of Dad in his final days. Funeral Service will be held at the Rushnell Funeral Home, 80 Highland Ave., Belleville (613-968-5588) on Saturday, August 10th, 2024 at 12:00 noon (With visitation one hour prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon).
