Peter Christie Obituary
Peter Guy Christie (July 2, 1957 – August 10, 2024) – Peter, in his 68th year, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2024 surrounded by his family. Loving husband and best friend of 35 years to Nancy (nee Ford). Amazing father to Drew (Deanna Brown), Erin (Sam Jones), Lisa (Curtis Hinchliffe), Grace (Ashley Melvin), and Megan (Cole Viktil). Peter loved his granddaughter Mabel, who always put a smile on his face. Brother to Jim (Sally Pepall), Joan (Jeff Robinson) and Ann Christie, brother-in-law to Dawn Black (Charlie Gezink), and Bill Black. Predeceased by his parents Jim and Peg Christie of Stoney Creek, and Nancy’s parents Jim and Carole Ford of Hamilton.
Peter was a kind soul, who loved his family and home in Beamsville. He was thankful to have experienced his epic flight in the Lancaster Bomber on June 1st, 2024 – a lifetime dream of his. Peter enjoyed 10+ years of retirement and “living life” in Beamsville with his family, following 33 years of employment at the City of Stoney Creek/Hamilton. In addition, he worked and volunteered at The Owl Foundation, for many years during his retirement. His last 18 months were challenging, but we have many great memories and know that he died peacefully with his family by his side. We are extremely thankful to the many cousins, friends, family, and health care professionals who provided support during Peter’s illness.
Family and friends will be received at Tallman Funeral Home – Fireside Room, 3277 King St., Vineland, on Sunday, August 18, 2024 from 2-6 pm and Monday, August 19, 2024 from 4-8 pm A private family interment will take place at Mountview Gardens in Stoney Creek. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Owl Foundation, McNally House Hospice, or the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum.
