Suzanne Mickus Obituary
Passed away peacefully at St. Francis Memorial Hospital, Barry’s Bay, on October 25, 2024, after a brief illness, age 83. Predeceased by her beloved Husband of 62 years, Dr. Vytautas Alexander Mickus (2022), she will be deeply missed by her surviving brother Jim. Dearest daughter of Doris and Norman Allworth of Toronto, she was also the proud Mother of Randy (2021) (Mimi), Alex (Gina), Tess (Richard), Peter (Lee), Tom (Ilham), and Jennifer (Steven). Proud Grandmother of Brandon, Alexandra, Julia, Robert, Johnny, Olivia, Macey, Celeste, Meredith, Sophia, and Zayn. Great-grandmother to Orion and Polytimi.
An inveterate traveler and reader, Suzanne also appreciated the simpler things in life, be it bird-watching, or a stroll in the woods. She was also an amazing cook, who would delight you with a new recipe as she expanded her culinary repertoire beyond the usual favorites. Her Christmas baking was something always looked forward to. She was a selfless individual who always put the needs of others before her own. Her calm and loving demeanor was a place of refuge for those who sought a listening ear, or sage advice. Her life was an example to all who had the good fortune to know her, or be raised by her loving hand. She will forever be missed, and remembered.
A special thanks to medical staff who provided such loving care with the onset of her illness. There will be a Viewing at Heubner Funeral Home on Friday, Nov 1st, in Barry’s Bay from 2-4pm and 7-9pm, and a Funeral Mass at Holy Canadian Martyrs Parish in Combermere at 10:30am, Saturday, Nov. 2nd. Remembrance donations may be left with the Madonna House Apostolate.
