Mary Dombroski Obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Catherine Dombroski (Luckovitch), on November 15, 2024, at Madawaska Valley Hospice in her 86th year. A cherished mother, nana, great nana, sister, aunt and loyal friend, Mary departed this world surrounded by the warmth and love of her family, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, laughter and endless love. As a mother, Mary was the heart of her family – a source of unwavering support, guidance and unconditional love. To her grandchildren, she was more than just “nana”. She was their confidant, storyteller, and biggest cheerleader. Her home was a place of love, filled with laughter and warm embraces. From rows of sun-ripened tomatoes to patches of crisp green beans, her garden was a testament to her care and dedication. Each year, she planted with hope, tended with patience and harvested with gratitude.
Mary was predeceased by her husband of almost 60 years, Walter, her parents Nicholas and Katherine, by her siblings; Vicky, Stella, and Dorothy and her granddaughter Melissa. Mary leaves behind her children, Larry (Kathy), Sharon (Perry), Nick, Marie (Tim) and Joe (Kelly). Also mourning her loss are her grandchildren Maeghan (Ronnie), Derek (Chantal), Brandon (Erin), Greg (Amber), Nolan (Lacee), Tyler (Alysha), Bailey (Bailey), Robyn (Pat), Dylan (Madison) and Abby (Nolan). She will forever be missed by her great grandchildren, Chase, Gracin, Hailey, Delaney, Brady, Adelia, Scarlett, Payton, Eli, Bennett, and Charles. Her siblings Susan, Sylvie, and Florian as well as her sister-in-law Rose, will miss her tremendously.
The family will receive family and friends at Heubner Funeral Home on Tuesday November 19th from 2-4 and 7-9 and again on Wednesday November 20th at 9:00am. A funeral mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church, Barry’s Bay on Wednesday November 20th at 10:30 am. Interment at St. Hedwig’s Cemetery.
As an expression of sympathy, donations can be made to CHEO Foundation. We would like to give a special thanks to the doctors and nurses at St. Francis Memorial Hospital along with Dylania and the team at Madawaska Valley Hospice for the amazing care they gave our mom during her final hours. Though Mary has left this world, her spirit lingers in every bloom, every vegetable she nurtured, and every heart she touched. Like a hummingbird flying around the flowers, her presence was filled with extraordinary beauty and grace. May we carry her love forward and let it grow.
