Harold Vernon Miller, (76), of Barrie, Ontario, passed away on October 1 2023. Harold was predeceased by his wife Theresa, his father John, and mother Enid. He was the second youngest of eighteen siblings, born and raised in Nova Scotia. Harold is survived by his two children Tracey (her partner Bryan) and Kevin (his partner Chrystal), and three grandchildren Casandra (her husband Matthew), Lilly, and Carson.
He made friends everywhere he went, and in the end the people who mattered were there with him. He lives on in his best friends Norm, Val, Kenny, Debbie, and every person who walked through the door in the last seven months to share a laugh.
Harold came to Toronto from out east in his youth, fell in love with a girl he kissed on New Years Eve, and did anything to give his family everything. And he did give his family everything. In the end he kicked cancer’s butt for six months to have another summer with his friends and family, making memories that will be honoured for generations and sharing stories that will be repeated as many times as he told them himself.
No funeral or memorial service will be held. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hospice Simcoe.
