Peacefully passed away at Simcoe Hospice in Barrie on April 27, 2024 at the age of 89. Dear father of Donna Hammond, Cindy (John) Hammond-Sampogna, Mike (Julia) Hammond, Margo (David) Gandy, Gary Hammond (Jennifer), and Sherry (Graeme) Findlay. Predeceased by son Donny Hammond. Proud “papa” to his grandchildren, Shannon, Jason, Amanda, Nicole, Sara, Bailey-Anne, Samantha, Jessica, Britney, Sommer, Carson, Cameron, and great-grandchildren, Gavin, Avery, Ethan, Valentina, Holland, Grace, Jaxson, Tatum, Myles, Owen, and Ella. Will be sadly missed and always remembered by many other dear family members and friends.
Visitation will take place at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie, on Thursday, May 2, 2024 from 3 to 5 PM and 7 to 9 PM. A celebration of Gordon’s life will be held on Friday, May 3, 2024 at 11 AM in the Steckley-Gooderham Chapel, with interment at Assumption Catholic Cemetery, 6933 Tomken Rd., Mississauga. Following the interment, guests are invited to join the family for a reception gathering at 67 Adirondack Dr., in Maple.
If desired, donations in Gordon’s memory may be made to the Salvation Army or War Amps of Canada and are greatly appreciated by the family.
