Peacefully passed with family by his side at Hospice Simcoe in Barrie on Wednesday, November 13th, 2024 at the age of 57 years. Beloved husband of Virginia Roote. Loving father of Amanda (Aaron) Maynard, Lauren Sutherland (Dylan Baker), Tyra Roote (Drake Scott, predeceased), Gary Roote, Jacob Roote, Lauren Roote and Jayda Roote. Proud grandfather of Arya Maynard, Abby Maynard, Arlo Maynard, Shiye Baker, Nakoa Baker (predeceased) and Mickee Roote-Scott. Devoted son of Cheryl and the late Frank Sutherland. Dear brother of Patricia Bauchman (Rodney Sides, predeceased) and Michael Sutherland. Will be sadly missed by extended family members and dear friends.
Visitation will take place at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 30 Worsley St., Barrie on Monday, November 18th, 2024 from 6-8 pm. Funeral Service will take place at the Christian Island United Church the following day on Tuesday, November 19th, 2024 at 3pm. Interment to follow at the Christian Island United Church Cemetery.
