Donna Elizabeth McKinley (Monk)
While surrounded by her loving family, Donna passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 10th, 2024 at the age of 77. Much loved wife of Robert (Bob) William McKinley, mother to Darren Leslie McKinley (Nancy) and Shannon Elizabeth Van Ekeren (Chris). Adored Grandmother of Brooklyn, Paizleigh, Scott, Connor, Ariel, and Amber. Beloved sister to Dennis Monk (Nancy) and predeceased brother David Monk (Fran). Beloved by all her extended family members and cherished by many close friends.
In her retirement, the sparkle in her eyes was being Nana to her 6 grandchildren. She loved spending time with her family, whether playing cards, sharing hugs, or listening to everyone’s stories.
The family is very appreciative of the care she received at Royal Victoria Hospital in the ICU, and especially the amazing care from Dr. Alida Pokoradi and the entire Oncology team.
In memory of Donna, donations made to the Royal Victoria Hospital www.rvhkeeplifewild.ca/ would be greatly appreciated by the family.
There will be a funeral mass at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 650 Essa Rd in Barrie, on Friday November 22nd, 2024 at 11am with refreshments to follow in the church hall.
