Rose Marie Card passed away peacefully, surrounded by her children on Thursday, April 25th, 2024 at Peterborough Regional Health Centre at the age of 84 following a lengthy illness. Rose (Lockhart) Card, beloved wife of the late Mike Card, loving mother of Christina (& Eddie) Jones of Peterborough and Jason (& Florence) Card of Fowler’s Corners, cherished grandmother of Quinn, Griffin, Cameron, Derek (& Lisa), Nicole (& Drew), Mackenzie (& Marc) and Madison and great grandmother of Ava, Cohen, Weston and Russelle. Rose will be fondly remembered by her siblings: Yvonne, Richard, Bruce, Sandra, Lloyd, Gordon & David. She was predeceased by her parents, William and Simonne (Proulx) Lockhart and by her brothers, Bill and Robert James. She and Mike lived for many years in Peterborough and following retirement, moved to Lake St. Peter in 1995. Rose had returned to the Peterborough area a year ago to be closer to her children and because of declining health. Her love of fishing, painting, gardening, helping out at St. Paul’s United Church, the food bank and community centre will be remembered by all who knew Rose. She is now once again reunited with Mike….may they rest in peace.
