Evelyn Jean (Fransky) Lake passed away peacefully at Quinte Healthcare North Hastings on Saturday evening, September 30, 2023 at the age of 97. Evelyn Lake, beloved wife of the late Norman Lake, loving mother of Roger (& Dorothy) Lake of Bancroft, cherished grandmother of Belinda, Wendy and the late Edward, great grandmother of Paige, Jonathan and the late Daniel, Millie and Harrison. Evelyn was predeceased by all of her siblings, namely: Lila, Bruce, Edna, Stan and Mildred and is survived by her sister in law, Eleanor. Evelyn was born in Herschel Township and lived and worked in Toronto for 40 years. Following retirement, Evelyn returned to Bancroft in 1986 and thoroughly enjoyed her life here. She was a very active member of the Ladies Auxiliary with the Royal Canadian Legion, the U.C.W. at St. Paul’s United Church and the Hospital Auxiliary. Evelyn was rarely idle….may she now rest in peace.
