Zavitz, Maxwell “Max” of St. Thomas passed away at Royal Oak Senior Living, on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 in his 95th year. Beloved husband of the late Joyce(Karr) Zavitz(2010). Dear father of Norm(late Darlene) of Belmont, Rick(Karen) of Pueblo West, Colorado, Greg(Jennifer) of Taber, Alberta and father-in-law of Rose of St. Thomas. He will be missed by a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. Brother of Lloyd Zavitz, Betty Simpson, Jean Demery, Hazel Hunter, Barb Charron and Linda Crummy. Also survived by a number of sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sons Phil, Karl, Kenny and brothers Ron, Murray, Marvin, Jack, Bill, Russell, Harold and sisters Margaret and Dorothy. Born in Nilestown, Ontario on May 27, 1930, son of the late Archie and Vera(Turpin) Zavitz. Max was a dairy farmer in Belmont for 71 years. He was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed fishing on Arran Lake in Southampton where they had a trailer for many years. Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held.
