Zella passed away peacefully supported by her family at the age of 87 at St. Mary’s General Hospital in Kitchener, ON
Zella was a generous and kind person who was dedicated to her family and community. Zella was predeceased by her loving husband, Paul Kleisath and her beloved daughter Lorraine Scott. She was a wonderful mother to her children, and is survived by Chris Kleisath (Barbara), Mark Kleisath, Evan Kleisath (Viona Duncan), and her son-in-law Brent Scott. She will forever be missed by her 9 grandchildren Susan McInnes (Dean), Elizabeth Kleisath, Alina Scott, Carly Scott (Madison Wikston), Theresa Schwartzentruber (Tyler), Rianne Scott, Matthew Kleisath, Jaeden Kleisath and Kieren Kleisath and great grandson Riley. She was predeceased by her siblings George and Herbert Arnett.
Zella was born in Kane, Pennsylvania, and moved to Canada in 1974, settling in Athens, ON. Zella worked as a secretary at Athens District High School for more than 20 years. Over the years Zella enjoyed giving back to the community by volunteering at the Joshua Bates Centre, Catholic Women’s League, the Food Bank and St Denis Catholic Church. After many years of retirement, Zella moved to Waterloo, ON where 2 of her children and many of her grandchildren lived or attended University nearby.
The family will receive friends and guests at Judson Funeral Home, 3 Elgin Street S, Athens, ON on Thursday September 12, 2024 from 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Denis Catholic Church, 3 George Street N, Athens, ON, on Friday September 13, 2024 at 10 a.m.
Interment will be at St. Denis Catholic Cemetery following the Funeral Mass.
As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or St. Denis Catholic Church in Athens.
