Obituary of Doug Dillon
With shattered hearts, the family regretfully announces that Doug passed away suddenly at home in Pickering on Wednesday, July 3, 2024; William Douglas Dillon was only 55.
Cherished and loving father of Amelia Klimsa-Dillon (Mathieu Spataro). Beloved companion of Isabelle Aveine. Dearest brother of Gerry (Jackie) and Darrell (Elizabeth).
Doug was recently predeceased by his Mom, Priscilla (nee Herrick) Dillon (April 10, 2024) as well as his only sister, Maureen Murray (late Bob) (May 19, 2024). His Dad, Wilfred, passed away April 28, 1993.
Doug will be lovingly remembered by his former wife, Eva Klimsa as well as Eva’s mother, Eva (late Edward) and his sister-in-law, Marcella Marijosious.
He will forever remain near and dear in the hearts of his nieces and nephews: Jessica Dillon (Justin Stecher), Jennifer Dillon, Mitchell Dillon, Allan Murray (Whitney), James Murray, Leanne Gordon (Ken), Kristina and Tomas Marijosious; great-nieces and nephews: Abigail Stecher, Haleigh and Isaac Murray, Payton and Lila Gordon. Doug is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and so many wonderful friends. We can’t forget his furry friend Kaia who will long for her master forever.
Doug was born in Arnprior and grew up on the family farm in Braeside, Ontario. He was a remarkable individual who left an indelible mark on those who knew him.
From his early years as a standout athlete at Arnprior & District High School to his accomplished career in civil engineering, Doug was a force to be reckoned with.
After graduating from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Civil Engineering, Doug embarked on a journey that took him through various world class transportation companies.
His enthusiasm, expertise and dedication were evident during his tenure at Canadian Highways International Constructors (ETR 407), Derech Eretz (Israel), Aecon Construction and Materials Limited, North America Construction (1993) Ltd, Graham Group Limited, Leo Alarie and Sons Limited, Revay and Associates Limited, Louis W Bray Construction, and Morrison-Herschfield for MetroLinx.
As an extraordinary builder, he contributed significantly to shaping the infrastructure of the communities he served. Leaving behind a legacy of hard work, passion, and love.
Beyond his professional achievements, Doug’s greatest joy was his daughter, Amelia. She was his Taj Mahal—a cherished symbol of love and devotion.
His family and friends will forever remember his unwavering commitment to them. His presence will be dearly missed by those who know him.
May his memory continue to inspire us all.
Doug’s final arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the
Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior
where visitatio n will be held on Thursday evening, July 11th, 2024 from 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Friday morning, July 12th from 9:30 to 10:20 a.m.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Braeside on Friday morning at 11 o’clock.
A reception will follow.
Interment will take place with his parents at St. Alexander’s Parish Cemetery, Sand Point.
