It is with heavy hearts and the solemn rhythm of hoofbeats that we bid farewell to Donald Rutherford Schlievert, a true horseman and arborist, who embarked on his final ride from his home on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at the age of 71. For 50 years, he shared the reins with his beloved wife, Beverly Schlievert (Robillard). Proud and loving father of Jan Thoms (Trevor) of Renfrew and Dawn Hamilton (Andrew) of Stewartville. Cherished grandfather of Cheyanne. Dear brother of Carol Timmons and Dave Schlievert (Lavina). Predeceased by brothers Jimmy (Mildred), Gordon (Loretta) and Eddie. Will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Son of the late Herman Jr. and Lola (McCrea) Schlievert. Don dedicated over 20 years as an arborist and was a legend in the saddle, a master of the equine world, and a beacon of wisdom in the stables. The family wish to thank Dr. Fishman and Nurses of Bayshore Homecare Danielle, Amanda and Jessica. Don’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., 138 Daniel Street N., Arnprior where visitation will be held Saturday April 13, 2024 from 9:30 a.m. until time of memorial service in the Boyce Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Ed Rocha will lead us in paying tribute to Don’s remarkable journey. Interment White Lake Community Cemetery. Reception to follow at the White Lake Women’s Institute, 7 John Box Street @ Burnstown Rd. White Lake.
