It is with heavy hearts we announce the loss of our dearest Anna who passed away at The Carpenter Hospice, on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at the age 87. Reunited with her beloved husband Panko Maciruta to whom she was lovingly married for 55 years before his passing in 2011. Cherished mother to Rene (Cliff) Perteet of Grimsby and Roman (Marika) Maciruta of Toronto. Proud grandmother to Gregory (Ashley), Steven, Aleksandra and proud great-grandmother to Maya. Dearly missed by her brothers Matt (Helen) Savicki, Florian (Marika) Savicki and Myron (Terri) Savicki. Forever in the hearts of her extended family, including many loving nieces and nephews, and friends across Canada. Predeceased by her parents Vasilj and Maria Savicki. A very special thank you to all of the caring nurses, doctors and support staff who looked after Anna from her time at Seasons Retirement and the Carpenter Hospice. Anna may be gone from this world; however, she lives on in the stories and memories she has left with all those she touched during her lifetime. Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 485 Brant Street (one block north of City Hall), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333), on Sunday, December 15, 2024 from 5-8 p.m. with Panachyda at 7 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Protection Ukrainian Catholic Church, 419 Pearl St, Burlington, on Monday, December 16, 2024 at 9 a.m. If desired, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Holy Protection Ukrainian B V M Catholic Church, through their Donation Portal, would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
