Jim (James) Dodson
We are heartbroken to share that Jim, 82, passed away suddenly on December 25th, 2023 surrounded by his family. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife and partner of 45 years Diane, and his sisters in England Barbara (David), and Grace. He was predeceased by his sisters May (Sven), Nancy (Brooks) and Mary (Ken). Jim was so very proud of his children Steven, Philip, Lisa (Jennifer), and step-children Michael (Rebecca), Debbie (Luc), and Kevin (Michelle) He was an adoring grandfather to Jessica, Chelsie (Carson), Sean (Nicole), Mathieu (Kimberley), Eric (Kassandra), Abigail, Sam and great-grandfather to Landon, Kaisen, and Colette
Jim proudly worked for many years at Ontario Hydro, supporting employees as their Union leader. Deciding to retire 21 years ago was not a difficult decision for him however, the work was starting to interfere with his growing love of golf, which he dedicated much of his retirement. He was also a dedicated and enthusiastic fan of his sport teams, Everton Soccer and the Toronto Maple Leafs Hockey and always found a reason to be positive about their play. Jim was a pro at home handyman who would fix anything rather than buy something new
But what he loved the most was his family, his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We will miss his deep laughter that filled the rooms he was in, the kindness he showed everyone around him and his strong firm hugs.
A celebration of his life will be held Sunday, April 21, 2024 from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. at Drury Funeral Centre, 519 Victoria Street East, Alliston, Ontario. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
