Betty Knowlton
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Betty Knowlton on May 3rd 2024 in her 81st year.
Betty is survived by her two sons Owen (Lesia) and Clinton (Denise) and Michael who was like a son as well as 4 grand kids Haley (Cole), Layne, Shea, and Justina. Predeceased by her husband Ivan (1996), her two brothers Roy (2003) and John (2010) and her sisters Jean (2017) and Lois (2023).
Betty grew up in rural Everett Ontario and moved to Toronto where she worked for Volvo. Betty and Ivan were married in 1962 and in 1974 moved their young family to Alliston. They built a house in the country near Baxter where Clinton and family live today. Betty worked at the Nottawasaga Inn in the banquets department for 25 years.
Betty was well known for her love of music and her extraordinary talent playing piano. She performed with her siblings growing up, played jamborees all over Ontario, and volunteered to play music for nursing homes in Alliston.
Betty enjoyed traveling to the warm sunny beaches of the Caribbean and traveling out West to see her grandchildren in Vancouver BC.
She was so proud of all her grandchildren and loved her family dearly.
She will be truly missed.
A family gathering will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank the staff at Stevenson Memorial Hospital. Donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
