The Lapensée family is saddened to announce the passing of Marielle “Momo” Lapensée, born Lavigne on March 14, 1943, who peacefully passed away surrounded by her four children at her residence, on Friday, August 23, 2024, at the age of 81.
Throughout her life, Marielle was a source of inspiration. Like a lighthouse, she guided and illuminated us both in our personal and professional lives. She was an extraordinary spouse, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, not to mention an incredible, hardworking, and determined businesswoman. Marielle is known as the co-founder of La Binerie à Paulin.
Marielle has now joined her beloved Paulin “Popo”. She will be deeply missed by her children Jean-Alain, Chantal (Alain Chartrand), Luc (Marie Nathalie Moreau) and Nathalie (Éric Leroux), as well as her grandchildren Valérie (Patrick), Sara (Nicholas) and Alexandre Chartrand, Chloé (Matthew) and Karine Lapensée (Jacob), Lovanie (Isaac), Paul-André (Amy) and Maëlle Leroux and her great-grandchildren Emma and Thomas Chartrand-Brisebois. Dear daughter of the late Laurent Lavigne and the late Lucia Richer; sister of Nicole (Jacques Lalonde), late André (Andrée Boudreault), Danielle (Richard Séguin), Annette (Marc Richard) and Carol (François Leclair). Also survived by several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also mourned by Lise Charlebois-Lapensée, Zachary and Rafaël Martin and the entire extended family of Rockland Manor.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Saint-Paul Church in Plantagenet on Saturday, September 14, 2024, from 9:30 a.m., with the Funeral Service to follow at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at parish cemetery immediately after the service.
The family would like to thank all those who provided incredible care to Marielle, such as the entire staff at Rockland Manor, the Champlain Home Care Service, Élisabeth-Bruyère Home Care, Access Health Care, Dr. Marie-Josée Deslauriers, Dr. Maziak and Dr. Pantarotto from the Ottawa General Hospital and Dr. Chaput.
