Obituary of Heindrik Fredrick Dirk Paul Hofland
Hofland, Hendrik “Hein”
Hendrik (Hein) Fredrick Dirk Paul Marie Hofland passed away quietly at Agecare Nursing home Parkhill on Nov. 6th 2024. Born in Holland on Nov. 3, 1932 to Henricus and Marie. Hein was one of 13 children. He immigrated to Canada in 1954 at the age of 22 through an agricultural program. He worked for Norman and Margaret Hodgins family on the farm from then until 1977-78 when he joined the McGee Farm Services team until his retirement in 1997. He coached hockey but mainly enjoyed coaching the girls! His teams were special to him and he always enjoyed the road trips. He was very much involved in silver stick as well. He was inducted into the North Middle Hall of Fame in 2019. He loved boating and fishing and his boat was the Kentucky Stud. He enjoyed travelling even if it was just out for a drive in his van. He loved going to Amy’s restaurant in Strathroy and was pretty disappointed when they closed. Being a bachelor, eating out was an everyday occurrence. He met a lot of people in his lifetime and has left a big hole in our hearts. Thanks to the Staff at Agecare for taking such good care of Hein. Run after those girls Hein now that you are able! Hein’s wishes was that no celebration was to take place. God bless you Hein.
