We are devastated to announce the tragic passing of our son Aidan on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at the age of 17. Loving son of Luisa Fontana and Peter Bonura, beloved brother of Vanessa and Christian, cherished grandson of Lucia and Calogero Fontana, and Jack and Lena Bonura, loved nephew of Maria, Josie (Trevor), and Paul, and dear cousin to Mason and Lucas. Aidan will be forever remembered by his Notre Dame community, especially the teachers and EAs that played an important role in his life.
A loving, caring, and joyful young man, Aidan had a kind heart and a gentle soul. He brought smiles to everyone he met. Aidan was an avid video-gamer, and his love of colourful themed socks brought joy and delight to everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him.
A special thank you to the doctors and nurses at Joseph Brant Hospital for their exceptional care. Thank you also to the team of PSWs from Acclaim Health who helped care for Aidan daily (Renissa, Grace, Nenie, Alaa, and Renato). A part of Aidan lives on through his generous gift of organ donation.
Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stop light north of QEW), BURLINGTON (905-632-3333) on Sunday, July 28, 2024 from 3-5 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. and Monday, July 29, 2024 from 3-5 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Paul the Apostle Parish on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at 11a.m. Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Muscular Dystrophy Canada would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
