Victoria Jane Innes Rushton aged 64 of Lake George passed away peacefully at Yarmouth Regional Hospital on October 12th, 2024, with her sons by her side.
Victoria or “Vicky” was the embodiment of the term “caregiver.” She had many meaningful connections and could make a lifelong friend out of a complete stranger in minutes. She was an open book, and that openness created an atmosphere of comfort and trust. You could be yourself around Vicky, and after a few minutes of conversation you’d want to offer nothing less. To try and paint a complete picture of who she was in just a few lines would be a disservice to the impact on the lives she touched. So, we ask that if you have a special memory, even if it was just a moment, reflect on that. Grieve, share stories, celebrate her life, but most importantly; Don’t forget to love.
Left to honour and remember are her Sons Robert Rushton (Laura) Andrew Rushton (Amanda); stepsons Matthew Rushton (Deanna) Patrick Rushton (Kathleen); husband Martin Innes and grand children Lily, Philip, Gavin, Declan, Ben, Cali-Jane and Arlo. Also left to remember are brothers James “Jim” Chapman, Michael Chapman and sisters.
Vicky was predeceased by her parents John and Iris Chapman; Husband Robert “Bobby” Rushton; Brothers Paul Chapman and Joe Chapman. We would like to send our sincere appreciation to the many Doctors and Nurses at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital who cared for her over the last years. As was Vicky’s request there will be no service and we ask that if you feel the need, please make a donation to a charity of your choice in her honour.
