HOPKINS-MESSENGER, Shirley Elaine – 88, Bear Point, formerly of Oak Park, passed away on June 23, 2024 at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital, Yarmouth. Born at Argyle Sound, May 12, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Ethel (Hopkins) Surette and step-father, Harvey Surette. Mom really liked to go to Tim’s. She had lots of friends. She loved to crochet, do crosswords and she could also make a mean pan of biscuits. She loved to go to dances at the Lions Hall. Her favourite band was Dave Burbine and Traditional Country. She will surely be missed by all that knew and loved her. She is survived by her daughters, Crystal Newell, Spring Daugherty, Kim Cameron; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great grandchildren. Besides her mother and step-father, she was predeceased by her first husband, Maynard Hopkins, and second husband, Robert Messenger. There will be no service by request.
