TEDFORD, Ronald “Leslie” age 81, passed away on Sunday, July 7th, 2024 surrounded by loving friends: Donnie, Sylvia, Arnold, Faye and George. Leslie was a farmer his entire life and was no stranger to hard work. He started driving tractors at the young age of 8. Leslie was a very resilient person who survived both Polio and Cancer. As a young child, he spent 10 months away from his family in Halifax being treated for Polio. Later in life, he attended Polio meetings and was an advocate for those who lives were affected by Polio. Leslie retired from Foggy Bay/Tedford Brother’s Farm at 51, but really never stopped working. He started his “second” job at the young age of 68, working for his friend Dave Hall helping maintain his many properties. Numerous memories were made with both Dave and George Lambert whilst working and travelling the world. If you were an early riser, you would have sited Leslie sitting with the coffee crew, first at Tim Hortons, later at MacDonalds. Early morning coffee, is where the mutually devoted friendship and bond between Donnie Richardson (Sylvia) and Leslie began and continued until the last breath. Leslie is survived by daughter, Twila (Douglas) ,Australia; brothers, Lloyd (June) , Donnie (Lorraine); sisters, Thelma (Laurie) , Mildred (Darryl); 3 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. Besides his parents, Leslie was predeceased by his wife Marsha and sister Norma. Deep heartfelt thanks to all those special individuals on 4th floor of the Yarmouth Regional Hospital, who assisted and made Leslie’s ‘home away from home’ more bearable. Special mention to Janet and Gail.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation will be held from 6-7 PM on Saturday, July 13,2024 followed by a funeral service at 7PM both in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Pennell officiating. Interment will follow in Chegoggin Cemetery at a later date.
