Nicole Lynn Murphy – age 49, of Yarmouth, Nova Scotia was taken from us far too soon on Friday November 1, 2024. Born in Yarmouth on August 18, 1975, she was the daughter to Janet (d’Eon) Murphy and the late Roderick “Junior” Murphy.
Nicole had a heart of gold and was known for her unwavering generosity. No matter the circumstance, she was always there with a helping hand, offering support and kindness to anyone in need. She was the first-person others turned to when they needed help, guidance, or simply someone to listen. Her willingness to give of herself was matched only by the depth of her love for her family and close friends. Nicole’s compassion touched everyone she met. At work, she was not only a hard worker but also kind and caring. She built strong friendships with the patients, always offering genuine support. Her dedication and warmth made a lasting impact on those around her.
While Nicole could be stubborn at times, those closest to her knew that her strength came from a deep passion and conviction. She was determined, and always put the needs of others before her own. Her love was a constant, steadfast presence, making everyone around her feel cherished and understood. She was truly “everyone’s person.”
Outside of her caring nature, Nicole had a zest for life. She was an avid lover of cars, especially her beloved Mustang, and could often be found at car shows, revelling in the beauty of the machines she adored. She also had a special place in her heart for Disney, and the magic of those visits brought her so much joy.
Nicole’s love for her son, Noah, was the foundation of her life. He was truly her everything, and it was clear to anyone who spoke with her that Noah was always at the centre of her world. She had a way of weaving his name into every conversation, proud and eager to share a piece of him with those around her. Above all, Nicole was a mother—fiercely devoted and willing to do anything for her son. Her love for Noah was unconditional and unwavering.
Nicole leaves behind her son, Noah Stanwood (Allison LeBlanc); mother, Janet Murphy; brother, Greg Murphy (Sasha Allen); grandmother, Vivian d’Eon; God parents, Eleanor Nickerson and Bill Murphy; and many uncles, aunts, cousins and countless friends who will miss her dearly.
Besides her father she was predeceased by her paternal grandparents Roderick Sr. Murphy and Leah (Fitzgerald) Murphy as well as her maternal grandfather Bernie d’Eon.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. A celebration of Nicole’s life will be held Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 1 p.m. from Yarmouth Wesleyan Church with Pastor A.J. Plaizier officiating.
