Mary’s Obituary
Mary Alice Reid, age 68, passed away in Yarmouth Regional Hospital surrounded by her family on November 19, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Mary was born in Yarmouth on August 12th 1955 to the late George Albert and Catherine Bernice (Leblanc) Thibeau. Over the years, Mary was employed by Zellers, Tidal View Manor as a PCW and after retirement at the Salvation Army Thrift Store.
She survived by her husband, Stephen Reid, son Jason Reid (Abby) sister Mildred Muise, brothers, Bobby, Willard (Ruth) and Clifford (Mary-Lynn) and several nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by brothers, Thomas (Marie), Richard (Stella), brother-in-law, Arthur Muise (Mildred) and sister-in-law, Theresa, (Bobby).
Mary was a devoted wife, mother, sister and loyal friend. She was strong willed with an equally strong work ethic. She was an avid BINGO player and crossword puzzle enthusiast. Mary was a “mom” to many stray cats as she couldn’t bear to see them suffering or abused. She had a special place in her heart for her cat, Scooter who was constant companion and a great source of comfort. Mary will be deeply missed by family, friends and all who knew her.
