Lavern Joyce Doucette- age 74, passed away at the V.G. Hospital in Halifax on June 29, 2024. Born June 10, 1950, she was a daughter to the late Erlin Angus Lowe and Grace Evelyn (Pinch) Lowe. Lavern was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and friend and loved being surrounded by her family. Lavern was a PSA at several schools for many years, including Plymouth, Milton, and Yarmouth High retiring in 2015. She was also a flagger for MacKenzie Security. Lavern enjoyed camping, fishing, playing cards, and biking in her spare time. She was also a lover of animals especially her furbaby Jose. Lavern is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Stephen Doucette; daughters, Tina (Brian) Rodgerson; Lori Doucette (Roy Miller); sister, Patrica Lowe (Burly Boudreau); niece Angie Titus; grandchildren, Melissa Jacquard (Jason), Emilee Miller, Eden Miller, Roman Miller; and great-granddaughter, Gracelyn Jacquard and her long time best friend Brenda Atwood. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her grandson, Jared Doucette and her brother in infancy. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. Visitation will be held Friday, July 5, 2024, from 7-9 P.M. in Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place at a later date in Brenton Cross Road Cemetery.
