John’s Obituary
DEVILLER, John Ernest – age 64, passed away on June 17, 2024 in the South Shore Regional Hospital after a short battle with Cancer. Born in Pinkney’s Point, he was a son of the late Richard and Grace (Lewis) Jacquard and foster parents, Wilfred and Marion Doucette.
John was a member of the Peace Keeping unit for the Canadian Armed Forces. He was a proud Legionnaire at Royal Canadian Legion Branch 61, Yarmouth and a Veteran. John loved being in the woods and loved hunting. He enjoyed motorcycles, especially his Harley Davidson. He was very sociable, stopping and talking to anyone, whether he knew them or not. He had a sense of humor and loved to joke around.
John is survived by his loving wife, Jean; siblings, Douglas; Avery (Tara); Ricky (Tania); Dale Gavel; Judy Sears; Susan (Donnie) Mahoney; Margaret (James) Hammer; foster sister, Edith Cottreau.
Besides his parents John is predeceased by, brothers, Ronnie, Sid, Miles and Scott; foster sisters, Beverly in infancy and Una Cottreau.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home in Yarmouth. A visitation will be held on Monday, June 24th, 2024 from 7-9 p.m. with a Legion Service Branch 61 Yarmouth at 7:15 p.m., followed by prayers at 8 p.m., all in Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Yarmouth. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, June 25th, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Melbourne. Burial to follow in St. Raphael Cemetery, Pinkney’s Point.
