Obituary
FLEMMING, Helen Marie – 86, It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Helen Marie Flemming on May 21, 2024, at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born at Upper Port La Tour on April 9, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Bradford Alton and Beatrice Evelyn (Ryer) Flemming. Mom enjoyed the many hours spent in her beautiful gardens. She enjoyed watching the birds at her feeders, and doing her puzzles at home. Also, she had a great love for her fur baby, cat, Beth. She was so proud of her gardens she even gave garden tours at one point, knowing all varieties and expertise of each plant she grew. Mom spent part of her young years on Seal Island where her father was light keeper for 22 years (1951-1973). Mom had given her heart and soul to the Lord and was ready for a new life in heaven. She is survived by her twin sons, Kurt Symonds and Kylie (Suzanne) Symonds; daughters, Sonia (Harold) Newell, Kathy Symonds, Michele Flemming, Kari (Michael) Fraser; brother, Gary Brian Flemming; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren. Besides her parents she was predeceased by brothers, Alton Bradford Flemming, David Earl Flemming, and Garry Victor in infancy; sister, Joyce Leora Balkam, and B. Elaine Flemming in infancy. There will be memorial service on June 9 at 2pm at the Oak Park Seventh Day Adventist Church. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
