It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Roberta Bernadette Verge, of Falmouth, at age 87, on Thursday, December 26, 2024. She passed away peacefully in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII, Halifax, after a prolonged illness.
Roberta was a very energetic mother of three boys who kept her hands full. She worked many years in the retail industry, until she found solace living her dream beside the lake. Roberta was an avid cook and enjoyed dancing, home decorating and refinishing furniture, crocheting and really enjoyed her favourite films from the golden age of Hollywood. With her beloved husband Walter, she enjoyed travelling throughout the continent.
Roberta is survived by her sons, Allen (Jayne) and Myles; as well as her brother, Alan (Sharon); sisters, Karen and Sheila. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Gerald, Ashley, Christopher, Morgan and Courtney and cherished great-grandchildren.
Roberta was predeceased by her parents, Francis and Mamie (Butler) Corcoran; husband, Walter; son, Gregory; as well as brothers, Francis, Leo, Ralph and Lindsay and sister, Marina.
Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to DeMont Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 419 Albert St., Windsor (902-798-8317). A private family funeral service will be held at a later date. In memoriam, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, 5657 Spring Garden Rd., Box 245, Halifax, NS B3J 3R4.
