It is with profound sadness that
we announce the passing of our dad, Joseph William
Wamback, 74, at South Shore Regional Hospital on December
5th 2024. He will be dearly
missed by his family and all who knew
him.
Born September 17th,
1950, in Halifax, to the late Leo
& Bertha
(Colp) Wamback.
Joe spent his career as a dedicated truck
driver and was an avid outdoorsman, spending time
hunting, fishing and exploring the woods. Later in life he could be
found enjoying nature with his beloved dog, Minnie, they were
inseparable. Joe had a heart of
gold, always willing to lend a helping
hand. His sense of humor was contagious, he
loved nothing more than making his loved ones laugh. His quick
wit and playful jokes will be deeply
missed.
His greatest passion
in life was his family, he is survived
by his children; Lorraine
(Allan) Mansfield of Caledonia, Theresa
(Sonny) Dunn of Midville Branch, Courtney (Troy) Atwell of
New Minas, Timothy (Melissa) Rogers of
Caledonia and Lindsey Wamback of Caledonia, his
grandchildren; Justine, Hailey, Austin, Annabelle and
Carter. He also leaves behind his siblings;
Barbara Cain of Halifax, Linda (David) Russell
of Truro, Leo (Christine) Wamback of Sackville and
Darlene (Wayne) Redmond of Newfoundland. He
was predeceased by his younger brother James
“Jimmy” Wamback and
his granddaughter Serenity Rose in
infancy.
Cremation has taken place under the care
of R. A. Corkum Funeral Home. There
will be a Celebration of Life held on Sunday December
22, 2024, at the Westfield Community Hall,
737 Westfield Rd at 2pm. All are welcome to attend to share
their favorite memories of this extraordinary
man. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to a charity
of one’s choice.
The family would like to thank his “day care
girls” (Queens/Lunenburg Home Support) for the
wonderful care they provided, going above and beyond for our father.
Also, Palliative Care nurses and doctors and Dr
Blackadar for being an amazing family
Physician.
“A limb has fallen from the
family tree that says grieve not for
me; Remember the best times, the laughter, the song, the good
life I lived while I was strong.”
