Douglas Selig passed away peacefully at Hillside Pines, Home
for Special Care, Bridgewater on Thursday April 11, 2024, surrounded
by family. He was the son of the late Louis and Gladys Selig,
Bridgewater.
Dad loved his family, and it was always the
center of his life. He worked hard all his life to provide a happy
home for his wife Ann who was his side kick and soul mate, and his
children. Dad and Mom looked after the grandkids when they came along,
so his kids could work to provide the same for their children. He was
an avid fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs, but he also loved to travel
with his wife and enjoyed yard sales. You may be gone but you will
surely never be forgotten.
Douglas is survived by his children, son Rick (Wanda) Selig;
daughter Debbie (Perry) Zinck; daughter Margaret (Terry) Dicks;
grandchildren Angie, Jenna, Christopher (Julia), Justin (Laura), Shawn
(Shelby), Brandon and Bryce; great-grandchildren Mika, Raimee, Luca,
Thea, Chloe, Kate, Emma, Payton and Scarlett; siblings Louis (Sandra)
Selig, Arnold (Joyce) Selig, Audrey (John) Joudrey, Jeannette
(Darrell) Dorey, Debbie (John) Beck, Charlotte Selig, Christine
(Allen) Lake, Janice (Cedric) Ernst, along with so many nieces,
nephews and family members.
He is predeceased by his loving
wife Annikki Selig; sisters, Ruth, Edie, Harriett and his brothers
Wayne, Jimmy and Johnny.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date. In
lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hillside Pines,
Home for Special Care, Bridgewater or the Alzheimer Society of Nova
Scotia.
Special thanks to the staff at Hillside Pines who provided
care and especially love to Dad. Thank you sincerely. From
the Family.
