DEAN, Elizabeth May “Betty” of Brooklyn NS,
passed away on April 19, 2024 in North Queens Nursing Home, at the age
of 93.
Born in Hibernia Queens Co., she was a daughter of
the late William H. and Gertrude M. (Wentzell) Leaman.
Betty was an honorary member of the Order of Eastern Star
Arbutus Chapter Milton NS. She was a homemaker while raising her
children and spent years employed at Lanes Privateer Inn, Liverpool
NS. She was a member of Milton Christian Church, Milton
NS.
She loved to socialize and had many life long dear friends-
Fern Leaman, Ann and Bill Cox to name a few.
Her passions were her talent of gardening and playing the
piano/organ.
She was very kind and generous and loving to all whose lives
she touched along the way of her life’s journey. Always
willing to help when needed and she will be missed by her family and
friends.
Betty is survived by her son James “Jimmy”
(Nell) of Oakhill, NS; her grandchildren Angie, Jimmy (Melanie),
Melinda, William, Tara, all of NS; her great grandchildren Lacey,
Liam, Charlie, Alex and Anthony, all of NS.
She was
predeceased by her husband Cecil S. Dean, formerly of Sheet Harbour,
NS; her son Scott “Scottie”; daughter Heather;
grandson Aaron; great granddaughter Emily; twin brother William
“Bud” and Gerald
“Jerry”.
There will be no service by request at the Funeral Home. A
private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements
are under the direction of the R.A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville,
