Obituary of Mary Goguen
It is with heavy heart we share that our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Mary Goguen passed away peacefully in her 92nd year on Saturday, September 9th at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, Massachusetts. Her last days were spent with her son Ronnie and daughter Janet and we are so grateful for those special moments.
Born in Westville on Feb. 20, 1931, she was a daughter of the late John and Catherine (Cyr) Swansburg.
Mary is survived by her children, Janet Goguen-Proudfoot (Jim), New Glasgow and Ronald E. Goguen ( Lisa) Hull, Mass.; her much loved grandchildren Lindsay Proudfoot ( Trevor), Gillian Proudfoot ( Mike) and Tom Goguen ( Taylor) , great grandchildren Franny and Ethan. She is also survived by her sisters Lena Donovan (Jim) and Rita “Ritie” Jones and sister in law Jean Swansburg.
Mom was predeceased by her husband Ernie Goguen, her brothers John “Jackie” Swansburg and Stewart MacNaughton;
Her final resting place will be in Quincy Massachusetts where she will be laid to rest beside our much loved father and grandfather Ernie Goguen .
Mom’s interesting and adventurous life will be celebrated this summer in Pictou County with friends and family. Thank you so much for your messages of love and support. We will miss her each and every day.
